Scenario: A new family to the United States has just enrolled in your school. The family has little to no English skills, but does have a “sponsor” who does speak English who has been active in the registration/enrollment process. 5. Curriculum Approaches to Vocabulary – describe to the family your approach to vocabulary development, provide examples of the strategies you will use and the expected outcomes for the student.
6. Questions – What questions could you ask throughout your conversation with the family to encourage collaboration, a sense of security, and to build trust? Provide 3-5 questions.
