Assignment instructions: Prepare a written report for how a company or Non-Profit Organization uses the concepts shown in the book to work more effectively. Students will use websites, press releases, new articles, interviews with employees/management, to research how companies are using the principles from the course in practice and the results they are seeing. The library can assist you with finding and researching articles about companies. Articles should come from reputable sources such as major newspapers, the Wall Street Journal, or major business publications such as Forbes, Business Week, etc. If you are unsure of the publication please come and see me in my office. Assignments will be submitted through Canvas by the assignment date/time.
An in-depth business analysis of a selected organization, e.g., a corporation, company, firm or association (ideally, an organization which the students have some interest in joining as an employee or associate). The Group Project written report must be in MLA style and submitted through Canvas in a common recognizable file format (MS Word, Google Docs, or Adobe PDF) the day the project is due (see Canvas Module and syllabus for project due date).
Methodologies to perform research of the project include:
Literature review (e.g. Bios of founders)
Promotional materials assessments (including web sites)
Length: Approximately 1.5 pages in MLA style with well documented references and bibliography
Assignment: Use Mcdonals to find:
What is the leadership style?
Who are the organization’s heroes?
Describe the motivational environment.
Assess the effectiveness of the organizational communications.
